Lady Cali

Lady Cali was born under the name Natalie Venegas on February 18, 1992 in Los Angeles California. She is the oldest of 7 coming from a two parent household. She has always had a passion in art, music, dance and poetry. She grew up in South Central Los Angeles California the majority of her life. A place surrounded by gang life, guns, violence and drugs. Her escape from her surroundings was through the arts allowing her personality and soul to speak through her creativity. She began writing poetry at the age of 8 years old before converting her poetry into rap lyrics by the age of 13. She would participate in school cypher rap battels to conduct her skills in the genre amongst her fellow peers. By the time she was 18 she had recorded her first freestyle single with her cousin Anthony that goes by the rap moniker Cosmic. And by 21 she had worked in many studios of her friends practicing and developing herself as a rap artist  Throughout her life, she had been given many great opportunities to work on some truly inspiring projects, while meeting many influential and creative individuals along the way. Music has been a great part of her life but she never pursued it as a profession due to her beliefs in being an Independent Artist sharing her gifts with the world freely. Drawn to her passion of music; by the age of 28 she had released her first EP titled 'Concrete Rose'. A project she had been working on (on and off) for 10 years. Since then she has recorded two more singles and continues on working and perfecting her craft. She is currently attending SNHU for her BA in Graphic Design and Media Arts.  She believes in working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
